THE STORY OF A PHOTOGRAPHER

southerners are naturally drawn to preserving -- memories, food, culture. to be born in the south you naturally beomcome a raconteur -- give us half a minute and  we'll tell you a good story with no details spared.

i found photography early. growing up in a small town in georgia,  i spent my summers with a camera in hand—photographing family, friends, and just about anything that would sit still long enough. digital photography was still new, and I fell hard for the process.

around there, no one thought twice about a 12-year-old showing up to photograph a wedding. it was simple, scrappy, and where i first learned how to pay attention to people.

after high school, i moved to atlanta to study photography at the portfolio center, where i shifted my focus to fashion and editorial work. that path eventually took me to new york city, where i’ve been working as a freelance photographer since 2012.

along the way, i’ve been lucky—traveling, picking up a few awards, and meeting some incredible people.

in 2015, i traveled to sweden to photograph a friend’s wedding, and something clicked again. it brought everything together for me—the storytelling, the portraits, the fashion influence, and the energy of being present for something that actually matters.

weddings, for me, is where all of these worlds collide.
